Elephants have big noses to sniff out development needs.

Clinical Supervision can benefit anyone working with patients or clients in the fields of medicine, mental health,  counselling and Psychotherapy or the allied health professions and emergency service personnel.  Individual clinical supervision is a supportive space for you to reflect and talk.  We will look at your caseloads and stress levels, I can be an information resource, we will focus on your strengths and identify areas for learning and development and look at any challenges you are having in your role.

To ensure you get the most out of our session, I have in my toolkit a range of clinical supervision models and theories.  I generally find most clients like working with Inskipp and Proctors' Functional Model of Supervision (Normative/Formative/Restorative) with aspects of Hawkins and Shohets Process Model, or Kolb's Learning Cycle (Reflective).

Before beginning clinical supervision sessions, I offer a free half hour meeting to look at any supervision goals you may have and to ensure we can work together effectively.

Whether you need safeguarding supervision, change management supervision, supervision for team leaders, or just want your staff to have clinical supervision but the service doesn't allow time or budget, for individual supervision,  group clinical supervision can be really beneficial to staff and managers or even trustees.

Group clinical supervision is about shared learning, peer support and development.  It is facilitated in a safe space with ground rules including confidentiality.  Staff who struggle with talking on a one to one basis, find this type of Clinical Supervision helpful.

It also gives staff practice at presenting a case study, and public speaking.

Group clinical supervision can be useful to any department in your organisation, I have previously facilitated group clinical supervision to groups of fundraisers, nurses and therapists as well as facilitating safeguarding group supervision to staff from diverse designations.

The Model I use is the 'Reflective case discussion model of group supervision'.

I have been a senior manager for the last 22 years and have learned so much about being a good leader in that time (and believe me, I have made some mistakes too).  As a senior manager, I have had the privilege of managing many staff from a diverse range of services.  I have been able to identify gaps in service provision,  look at how we can fill that gap, research and write a successful business case for that service, manage the budget, and see the service all the way through to service delivery and sustainability beyond funding.  I can offer training or consultation on:

  • How to identify gaps in service provision and evidence them for funding applications

  • Writing a meaningful and attractive business case

  • Recruiting and facilitating service user focus groups

  • Completing funding applications with robust evidence for funding

  • Recruitment and interviewing techniques

  • Incorporating Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into the service and organisation

  • Policy and procedure writing

  • Setting up Employee Resource Groups (ERG's)

  • Leading staff through change in the organisation

  • Effective Monitoring and evaluation

  • Leading by example and positive management techniques

  • Sustainability
